1 Jargon

Campaign
A standalone adventure.

Universe
Separate realms of existence usually split into in-universe, the game, and out of universe, the reality of the players.

1.1 General Terms

Actor
A general term for any individual capable of performing an Attempt such as a player character, non-player character, AI, monster, being, etc.
Attempt
The roll of a d20 for any time an actor needs to determine success or failure for any kind of activity, action, etc.
AvoidCasualty
Most games call this "Armour Class" but it rarely involves or necessitates armour, so Fenris Punk has retconned this to mean the AvoidCasualty rating.
Cyberspace
Use to avoid trademark issues, aka The Web or The Net. An intersection of the internet and the high level immersive experience.
CritialPenalty
Typically the min dice roll from an Attempt, though some cyberware can affect this number.
Distro
BaseScoreDistribution
Mana
The source of magical power, given in units of Mana.
MAX
The highest number on a given die, which for example means a 20 for a d20.
MIN
The lowest number on a given die, which in almost all cases means a 1.
ThrowException
Casting magical spells can cause fatigue, pain, or even injury for the caster.

1.2 Abbreviations

AC
See above AvoidCasualty.
AL
At Level means the player gets the described buff as soon as they reach level x.
AR
Augmented Reality. A VR technology that uses refraction, holography, haptics etc to modify sensory input.
CR
Challenge Rating.
EU

IR
Immersed Reality. A VR technology that connects directly to the user's nervous system, often to completely replace sensory input with a highly lucid dream state.
MP
Magic Points which commonly have two forms, Mana and Cache. These represent a unit that spell casting requires.
OOU
out-of-universe
PTM
The Prouhet-Thue-Morse (PTM, sometimes just referred to as TM) sequence describes a method of equitable sequencing or fair turns.
VR
Virtual Reality. General term, or also meaning the old school technology for placing a modified television scope close to one's eyes to replace one's view.
WL
With Level means after adventuring with the items for x levels, the player gets the described buff.
