Fenris Punk | Progress Report

1 What's new?

The last two months have seen less playing and more time reading, collecting notes, and transcribing. I mostly finished writing up the main plotline for what I lightly code-named "Fall of the Whittier Arcology". While it takes place there, it doesn't necessarily involve that. Even the description is a lieā€¦

I haven't finished it yet, because I have some thoughts after play-testing that I haven't written down. But it's playable and I think I've transcribed all my notes. I still use paper, doodling on scraps. Sometimes I open up a new scratch buffer and just start typing. But since we finished the playtest I plan on renaming it and fixing that one bit.

2 Writing campaigns/modules

I don't plan on writing a vast amount more in terms of adventures on rails. At the moment the campaign section has four adventures, though one of them I plan on splitting up.

I've given it some thought, and I want each adventure to consist of around 3 to 5 sessions of 2 to 4 hours of play. I think I'll give each one a common outline:

Introduction
The abstract, expected levels, tie-ins or lead-ins, and play duration.
Summary
The detailed story about the adventure.
Dramatis Personae
NPCs, whether new or modified.
Chapters
Each chapter should try to fit into one playable session.

I think this probably deviates from some other modules I've seen, but I'll aim to standardize internally before trying to conform to other games.

3 Game system

After I finish the modules, I'd like to get back into refining the explanation of rules and then adding data (spells, items, etc). Hopefully I can find someone to help out, preferably someone without a heavy ttrpg background so they can ask good questions.

That said, I don't want to turn Fenris Punk into a general how-to for playing ttrpgs, though I wouldn't mind keeping to the original goal for making it somewhat compatible with modules from other systems.

And along with this, I'll continue to work on the milestones from the About page. As usual, I'll keep trying to work on it 15 or 20 minutes per day.

4 UPDATE 2021-02-15

I think I noticed almost immediately after posting that I still had more notes to enter for the Whittier adventure, obvious not only by the TODOs but by all the stubs. A few days later, some without electricity, I just want to point that out. I'll work on it more soon.
